Overview

A constitution-led organization

EMC is based in Espoo and founded on the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Islamic laws. It is organized as a member-based community organization, led by an elected board and supported by working divisions, with all activity guided by a written constitution.

Membership

Open to any Muslim living in Finland

Any Muslim living in Finland may apply to become a member of EMC, subject to board approval. Membership allows a formal voice in the direction of the organization, alongside the many community activities that remain open to all, regardless of membership status.

Day-to-day work at EMC is organized across seven divisions, each responsible for a distinct part of community life.

Accountability & Finance

Funded by the community

EMC is supported entirely through voluntary donations and community assistance — not government grants or outside funding. The Finance Division is responsible for budgeting and oversight.

What EMC's constitution actually says

EMC is based in Espoo, Finland, and operates as a community organization serving Muslims living in and around the city.

EMC's constitution is founded on the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Islamic laws. This foundation guides all programs, decisions, and activities.

EMC organizes religious practice and related community activities, and may provide Islamic education, guidance, seminars, and courses to its members and the wider community.

Any Muslim living in Finland may become a member of EMC, subject to approval by the board.

EMC is led by a board consisting of a chairman, vice-chairman, secretary, treasurer, and general board members, supported by working divisions.

EMC is supported through the voluntary donations and assistance of its community — not through outside or government funding.
